Fred Scott was one of the most highly respected furniture designers to date both in design education and by his fellow professionals. Fred's dedication enabled him over the years to develop some of the most radical thinking innovative furniture and his true understanding of human needs enabled him to produce designs that still stand the test time. This was never more so the case than with the Supporto chair which was launched in 1979, widely believed to be the chair that most influenced office furniture.
Holding a strong belief for design education he was a tutor at the Royal College of Art for many years also being a valid contributor to design courses throughout the country.
Sadly Fred passed away prematurely on the 31st January 2001 but his products still go on with Supporto being in demand all over the world.
